2025 Charity Support
Every year we raise funds and the profile of charities that we support.
Jersey Friends of Anthony Nolan
Anthony Nolan is a British stem cell transplant charity with 50 years of expertise in uniting science and people to push the boundaries of what can be achieved for blood cancer and blood disorder patients. Its world-first and world-leading stem cell register matches potential donors to patients in need of transplants. It carries out cell and gene therapy research to increase transplant success and supports patients through their transplant journeys.
Anthony Nolan helps four people in need of a transplant every day, giving more people a second chance at life. But the charity won’t stop until all patients have access to the treatment they need, so many more survive.
To carry out its lifesaving work, Anthony Nolan relies on the generous support of fantastic individuals and organisations, such as the Jersey Friends of Anthony Nolan. The Jersey Friends are a group of dedicated and passionate people who give up their time to support the work of Anthony Nolan in Jersey, raising lifesaving funds, awareness, and recruiting new potential lifesavers from Jersey onto the stem cell register. Founded in 1994, the group have been doing their lifesaving work in Jersey for 31 years.
Brightly
Brightly (formerly Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity) is a local children’s charity and we are celebrating our 100th anniversary this year. We provide support to children and young people from birth to 25 years living in care, leaving care, or who are experiencing adversity. Over the past year, we have provided financial support to more than 500 children and young people.
Brightly helps these youngsters to make an independent and fruitful life for themselves in many ways. This maybe by providing something as basic as clothing or food vouchers. It could mean funding nursery fees so that a parent (who themselves were in care) can work or attend a training course. It might be something that enables a child to pursue a hobby like a camera for photography, fund sports activities or fulfil their need for further education and training. Brightly also provides a gift of up to £2,500 to help young care leavers furnish their first independent home. These young people often face moving out of care, without any family ties or support.
The charity is often described as the ‘bank of Mum and Dad’, when the parent/s can’t be there, for whatever reason, to help, but we do not pay for things that are readily available from the Government.
Music in Action
Music in Action’s vision is to transform and enrich lives and communities through music. They do this by creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds and of all ages to interact together with musical experiences that inspire, educate, and support wellbeing.
All donations and profits go to help educate and inspire the children of Jersey and provide therapeutic help to the elderly and infirm.
